The Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine has the following focus areas:

- Childhood convulsions (epilepsy) and disorders of the nervous system (neuropaediatrics)

- Renal and urinary disorders as well as hypertension (pediatric nephrology)
- Diseases of the heart and blood vessels (pediatric cardiology)
- Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver (pediatric gastroenterology)

- Modern intensive care unit with 12 ventilation stations for premature infants, newborns, children and adolescents
- Sonography equipment for all body parts
- Echocardiography
- Long-term ECG
- Long-term blood pressure measurement unit
- Uroflow measuring station
- Its own X-ray and ECG department
- Its own laboratory with 24-hour readiness, specially designed for examinations of children
- Equipment for endoscopy of the gastrointestinal tract
- pH-balance metry
- Exhalation tests to determine food intolerances
- Lung function tests
- Bronchoscopy
- Two digital EEG derivation stations with video recording, additionally with a digital long-term EEG
- EEG, amplitude-integrated
- Measuring station for neurophysiology (evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocity)

- Hearing tests for premature infants and newborns (Otoacoustic emissions, OAE, automated brainstem audiometry, AABR)
