Welcome to the Department of Hematology and Oncology at the Clinic of Braunschweig!
Dear patients, dear relatives, referring doctors,
In the name of my whole team, I welcome you on the homepage of the Medical Clinic III of the Municipal Clinic of Braunschweig.
Our focus is the diagnosis and treatment of blood, lymphatic system and all malignant tumor diseases (hematology and oncology).
We are one of the largest specialist departments for hematology and oncology in Northern Germany. You can find us at the Cellerstrasse in Braunschweig. Our medical team consists of a chief physician, five senior physicians and 13 medical staff continuing education. More than 100 nurses take care of our patients. Laboratory specialists together with us doctors carry out the special hematological diagnostics. The health of our patients is also provided by physiotherapists, nutritionists, a psychooncologist and employees of our social services.
The clinic includes an intensive care unit, four bed stations including the so-called "intermediate care area" for critically ill patients and patients who require high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell transmission. In our palliative-medical field we focus entirely on the symptom-alleviating treatment of patients with reduced mobility. The clinic houses a laboratory for special hematological diagnostics. We cooperate closely with the Medical Care Center here at the Cellerstrasse. Here, an internal practice with the emphasis on hematology and oncology is established. There is also close cooperation with other clinics and specialized practices of the metropolitan region.
The Medical Clinic III is part of the Center of Internal Medicine. Our common goal is the optimal therapy of our patients, well-structured training of our medical staff and committed training of our students. The health and well-being of our patients is our goal.
